If you're a fan of beautifully designed, colorful, funky and happy home decorations then this sale is definitely for you. We have all our Rice stock reduced - up to half price! - and you really can get yourself a bargain here.

Rice Dk is a Danish company with a heart - they strongly believe in work ethics and the phrase "No one can help everyone, but everyone can help someone". It is the first Scandinavian company to achieve a SA8000 certification, which in short means that they are deeply engaged in no child labour, fair wages and better working conditions. We absolutely love them and we know that you will love them too!

Finally..

to create our announcement we used a photo found on the internet, but don't know the source.. sorry

After lots and lots of preparations we finally finished our online store! It took us way longer than we wanted - run into many problems along the way - but in the end we got there.

Yes, we already opened it once, but had to close it due to unexpected problems. We sorted them all out now and hopefully everything works as it should.

There's been lots of changes here -  both in the business and my private life.. Those really were some crazy months.. And there are more changes coming. I'm sooo excited! Will tell you more about it some other time.

So this is how the shop looks like:

Spring is in the air!

Well, not really... It's gray, cold and miserable outside. It's this funny time of the year - winter is over but it's not spring yet. The snow does not longer look like snow, trees look dead and there's no grass. So to put myself in a happy springy mood I did 'green' window display last night.

It looks better in reality.. I'm still learning to take good photos and to edit them. The little dots on the second photo is paint from when the outside of the shop was painted last year. I'll clean it when the weather gets better :)

And I'm really happy with my little green vases - there were so easy to make! I have a tutorial on them and will share that with you on Monday (I've finally made a list of posts for whole month, so I'm going to blog every day now. That's a promise.)

Have a happy springy Friday!

Meet Kuba, our new employee

This is Kuba. She joined our little team last week and we all really like her. She doesn't do much yet she helps us a lot. She loves fashion and dressing up..

There's only one problem with her - she has a truly enormous head! It makes her look like an allien so we decided that she's much better off without it.
Kuba and I are working on a fashion series together. It starts later this week and we both can't wait!

Have a great Monday everyone!

In the shop

I do apologise for never finishing the Valentine's series. Mr. Boyfriend surprised me with a trip to Cracov for the weekend so I simply couldn't finish it. And I had great time there! I simply love the place :) ( I would share the photos with you, but I forgot to take my camera...)

It's been a busy week here in the shop. We have a new employee - she loves fashion and I will introduce her on Monday, had two new deliveries and now we are working on improving our jewellery display.

My soon-to-be-sister-in-law helped me with the delivery. If it wasn't for her I'd be still doing it.. So a big thank you Katka!

Now we have lots of sweet notebooks, diaries, memo pads, stickers...

New wallpaper

So I decided not to be lazy and wallpapered the shop (not all of it of course, just one wall). It was supposed to be a half-day project but Mr Boyfriend, hopefully-soon-to-be-sister-in-law and I ended up doing it for almost whole weekend... But the outcome is totally worth it! It makes such a difference! I. LOVE. IT.

The wallpaper is from Isak and you can order it in the shop (and different designs too!).

The sun is (was) shining and I'm feeling good

We had a little bit of sunshine today! It lasted for about 10 minutes but that was enough to put me in a happy spring mood :) So I decided to do something "springy"... Here's the story in photos:

I planted little cacti in mushroom candle holders from House Doctor (for sale in the shop). Now they are standing on the counter looking great :)

...and that's how my fingers (every single one!) looked like when I finished...

Super easy bunting DIY

I love bunting! It's so easy to make and then you can use it to decorate pretty much anything. I made several of them for my shop and it really brightens up the place. I recently made some for my soon-to-be-sister-in-law's birthday party and everyone loved it!

What you need:
  1. Some colour paper - or any paper you like. You can use old magazine, newspaper, wrapping paper, postcards, old calendar... The possibilities are endless!
  2. Scissors
  3. Hole puncher
  4. String
  5. Pencil and ruler

So here's how to do it in three easy steps:

1.  Cut strips of paper of the same high - that's how high your triangles are going to be.

2. Draw triangles on the strips and cut them out. Mine were 12cm wide - I marked every 12cm on top of my strip and then did the same on bottom, but the first mark was at 6cm (and then every 12cm). Then I simply joined the dots and got perfect triangles :)

3. Punch hole each triangle and put the string through the holes. Continue until you have your desired length and ta-da! You have your own bunting!

I do apologise if my instructions are not clear - I'm totally rubbish at writing tutorials... Hope you can understand it anyway. Have fun!

I'm working on few bunting projects and will share them with you soon!

In the shop

I've just realised it's been two weeks since I'd posted anything on the blog. I'm pretty busy in the shop - working on the changing room (managed to pre-paint three walls so far...), ordering, choosing products, ordering... And I love it!
We've been opened for a month now and I feel like celebrating this little anniversary. Wine, cupcakes, friends. Sounds good, don't you think?

I don't think I shared that with you - my little shop on Isak web. We're the only ones in Slovakia to sell those beautiful, happy things made by Sandra Isaksson. And we are really proud of it too!

I know I've already shared the picture...Now you see how desperately I need to buy a camera!

The newest adventure

I´ve just realised that my last post was in January!... And to be frank I have not been here since. I´m ashamed.

But I have an excuse. Few to be precise.
  1. I left the UK and now I live with Mr Boyfriend in Slovakia.
  2. I´d gone back to work full time in order to save money so that we could move.
  3. My sister has a new family member so obviously I had to spend lot of time with them.
  4. I decided to open a shop and there was a huge amount of preparation before that.
  5. I opened a shop (together with Mr Boyfriend)
  6. I am living my dream :)
So, although I know I said it before several times, I´m back.

I am working on a website and a internet shop, and will definitelly change the blog design. For now I´m trying to figure out how to do it though so it might take a little while.

Here are some photos of my sweet little shop. They were taken just before we opened last week so they are not perfect. Hope you like them anyway :)
